The Sew Station from The Original Scrapbox
The Sew Station is a new piece of piece of furniture from The Original Scrapbox. Like the DreamBox, it folds upwardly into a small cabinet that looks great in your sewing room and frees up space. When it's all folded up you accept a squeamish flat top and you can't fifty-fifty see your sewing car (Sew Station is on the right):
In that location's a removable panel on the height and an electric lifter that brings your auto up when you're fix to work. In that location is also a table that folds up to one side of the automobile and some other tabular array that folds upwardly backside the automobile. When it'south all opened up, you have tons of room to stitch!
You lot can set the Sew Station upwardly with your DreamBox, and it will latch to the DreamBox table. Here's how mine looks attached to my DreamBox:
However, you don't have to have a DreamBox to utilize a Sew Station – you tin also prepare the Sew Station separately.
Sew Station Video
This video gives you lot a tour of my Stitch Station so you can see what it looks like in action:
Sew Station Pros and Cons
A couple things I actually similar about the Run up Station:
The plastic insert is pretty absurd. It allows yous to keep your machine level with your table and gives you a large flat area to sew on, which is really nice.
The extra fold out table tops are so handy! I got a small pressing mat and a mini fe so that I can press seams right from my sew station. No more walking back and forth between my sewing auto and ironing board!
There are extra totes on either side of the run up station, yous can always have your most used sewing tools right at hand. Hopefully I can finally stop losing my seam ripper!
When combined with my DreamBox, I take a TON of workspace now. I love it!
In that location is 1 thing I don't love about the sewing station: the thread rack in the pull out drawer. I dearest the idea of storing all my thread correct next to my automobile, but I found information technology was difficult to see all the thread and hard to attain the spools that are in the back. I plan to apply the rack for bobbins, which will be much easier to see and access.
All in all, I'm THRILLED with my new craft room!
Before and After
In case you lot missed yesterday's post, here's what my arts and crafts room used to wait like:
And here'south what it looks like now:
My supplies are organized and easy to find, and I love my giant workspace.
